Note: The OTS was behind the board and there was no FOB recording allowed.
These guys with the u89's were in with moe. and got permission to set up
right in front of the board and tape moe. They never broke down their rig
and they recorded Phil there too. Cutler was none to pleased when he realized
that at the end of the show when it was to late. All of the tapers in the
section were waiting for them to get busted by Cutler, but they lucked out,
and so did those of us who get to listen to this source.....

Subject: Beautiful Recording.

This is a tremendous recording. You could slap "sbd" on it and probably fool the majority of the everyday public. Great job getting away with it by the taper.

I'm doing some listening projects this year and decided to listen to the entire Summer Sessions tour (the Phil sets, anyway). I wasn't as familiar with this show, I usually put on 8/13, 14, and 8/17/99 every August and am not that familiar with the rest of the tour. I'm sure glad I am doing this, there's some tremendous music on this tour. Highlights on this one for me are the jam out of Rolling Stone/the jam into Rider, and It's Up to You. The rest is kinda standard fare, good show but might be my least favorite of the tour. 5 stars for the recording, 3 for the setlist and 4 for performance, I give it an average of 4.

Subject: summer sessions 99

Another awesome recording, nice recording info attatched explaining the killer sound. What can you say? Like a Rolling Stone jam into Rider was huge. As always, Phil's vocals are welcome here with a nice Rolling stone, Jack a roe, TNK, and I love the Days Between. There is a rare version of Blue Sky with Phil on vocals, maybe mountainaire 5-29-99, so I was hoping he would again sing this one. Obviously warren winds up singing this one, with one twist, he sings every verse unlike the way the Q did it later down the road when Phil would come in and sing the 'Sunday Morning' verse. Very nice. Of course, don't forget Kimock, here we get an its up to you which melts into maybe the most psychadelic version of Tomorrow Never Knows to my knowledge..Greek and Red Rocks '02 phil shows are definately very good, but Hollinsworth puts this one over the top with some very spacey sounds. Warren on Casey Jones, nice. Way better than Baracco did this one.

Subject: Steve S strikes again

This is another great tape by Steve S from SF. This is his rig. Great sound FOB large diaphram Neumanns makes me drool. As for the show it is top knotch. Steve and Phil really cook in these 99's prior to his untimely departure from the band. Both Kyle and Kang from SCI take some nice solos and Phil is right there in the pocket with Molo all night. This whole tour is top knotch and I think this may be the best of a very phine Phil tour.

Subject: 5 star audience recording!!!

I love this! Worth the download! Remember it being in the 90's during these shows. So much fun! Excellent shows! Great lineup!
